Beginning your journey.

Finding out you are pregnant is a wonderful moment – you are then able to decide how to go about telling friends, family, colleagues and your employer, all of which can pose different challenges. At the same time embarking on the pregnancy journey can prompt a variety of emotions, thoughts, feelings and anxieties. It is not uncommon to begin to think about what life will be like, the changes in your identity to come, your experiences of parenting to date, your existing relationships, and how you will manage the process of leaving work, plus looking after yourself and your well-being in the lead up to the birth. Feeling a little daunted about having and raising your first child, multiples or your subsequent children is perfectly reasonable.

This expectant mother coaching programme provides a conversation space to air your concerns, discuss anxieties, and reflect and make sense of your previous experiences. You will be supported in developing plans for potential challenges to come and communicating with loved ones. Together we will create your own well-being plan to enhance your experience of being an expectant mother as well as prepare for the transition to motherhood. You will also be supported in developing strategies for communicating with your employer and planning for a smooth departure from work.

I

expecting…

“After a helpful, first short introductory session, the scene was set for me to reflect on what I would find most useful to discuss and I was encouraged to take the lead as regards topics. It was really easy to quickly get into meaningful conversation which took directions valuable for me.”
